Jim Ghedi shares dystopian new single Sheaf & Feld (+ Live Video)

[ad_1]

Jim Ghedi‘s new album, Wasteland, out on 21st February 2025 on Basin Rock, follows four years after his highly acclaimed 2021 album, In the Furrows of Common Place. In that time, the tides have most certainly shifted and Ghedi’s visions have become more intense and brooding, reflecting broader societal issues which seem to grow by the day.

On his new single ‘Sheaf & Feld’, that vision is stronger than ever as Ghedi pushes himself sonically – dystopian post folk with synths, electric guitars, heavy drums, and a remarkable falsetto.

He describes it as: “An hallucinatory intoxicated dance with death, crazed manically running through folk mythology, apocalyptic collapse, alcohol fuelled dreams, barren empty moorlands and impending doom.”

You can hear the single and watch a live performance below on which he is joined by three musicians who all had albums reviewed on KLOF Mag: David Grubb on fiddle, Neal Heppleston on bass and Joe Danks on drums.

It’s a giant of a song…totally blown away by the energy of it all.
