According to TMZ, the rapper was detained in Sin City on Monday (August 26) for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit – which is a felony.
Per sources close to the case, the MC (born Dominique Jones) was videoed being passed a gun while in a Vegas club. Police were called and he was whisked off to Clark County Detention Center for carrying a concealed firearm without a permit and held on $5,000 bail.
In a statement from his legal read:
“To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit. On his behalf we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas.”
It appears jurisdiction may be a central component of both the prosecution and defense. For, while Lil Baby asserts that he has a permit, Nevada reportedly does not recognize Carry Concealed Weapon permits issued in Georgia.
