Mariah Carey Talks Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Snub: “My Lawyer Got in Before Me”


Mariah Carey has long been the Queen of Christmas, but the diva supreme continues to remind that she is also the Queen of Shade.

Mimi, who generously gifted culture “I Don’t Know Her,” didn’t hold back when quizzed about her ongoing omission from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Mimi, whose colossal career has seen her shatter records and etch her name in the history books, has been eligible for induction since 2016.

Passed over in the editions that followed, she was finally nominated this year. Yet the superstar was not selected for induction. In her place were names such as Cher and Mary J. Blige.

During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Carey was quizzed on the matter and simply quipped:

“My thoughts are, I didn’t get in. Everybody was calling me, going, ‘I think you’re getting in!’ and so I was excited about it. But then it didn’t happen. My lawyer got into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before me.”

The songbird’s lawyer is Allen Grubman. Also a legal shepherd for fellow huge names like Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, and U2, he is a co-founder of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and was inducted in 2022.
