US-based shoegaze/dreampop festival Risers Fest, conceived by Washington DC promoter Dave Mann, have announced their first UK edition, taking place on Sunday 8th September at The Ramp in Horwich, near Bolton, Lancs. The event is sponsored by acclaimed indie record shop Wax And Beans and 1991 Recordings, and Miki Berenyi Trio (MB3) are confirmed in the headline slot.
The former Lush and Piroshka singer/guitarist is currently enjoying great success with her memoir “Fingers Crossed” and MB3 has recently released a single “Vertigo” via Bella Union, which features bandmates Kevin ‘Moose’ McKillop on guitar and Oliver Cherer (Gilroy Mere, Aircooled) on bass. A debut album is apparently in the works.
Also on the bill are Anglo-Irish dreamrockers KEELEY (new album to be released September 13 via Tiny Global Productions), American etherialists Lumari from Minneapolis, and UK shoegaze noiseniks Last Tourist, 93 Million Miles From The Sun and Everything Else.
The event starts at 2pm and tickets are on sale now HERE. Frequent trains run from Manchester Piccadilly and Preston to Horwich Parkway or Blackrod.
