Nicki Minaj‘s arrest in Amsterdam on Saturday (May 25) may have caused a global media storm, but the chart-topping rapper is ready to move on from the drama and has issued a formal apology to her beloved fans (affectionately called #Barbz) for the inconvenience of her Manchester stop on the ‘Pink Friday 2 World Tour‘ being abruptly canceled.
Minaj, after “sitting in a jail cell for 5-6 hours,” took to Twitter on Saturday night to assure her #Barbz that she was okay and apologize for being forced to cancel her Manchester show.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today. May God cover you & all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination,” she started the lengthy tweet to her 28.1 million followers before later relaying, “Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies.”
The GRAMMY-nominated rapstress was detained by Dutch authorities after they allegedly located drugs in her possession during a search.
According to Nicki, the apprehension was a tool of sabotage an enemy is using against the success of the ‘PF2 World Tour.’
“That’s why they had to do the big song & dance b/c they knew I’d still find a way to perform even if it came down to my last 90 mins in the building which would have been until 1130pm. The building was willing to go past 11pm. So grateful to them for that. So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight. I succeeded @ getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time. I have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. I’ll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here tho,” she shared before saying, “They’ve been doing this over & over & over & over & over again & I’ve tried so hard to not discuss it b/c you guys deserve to just get the good stuff. I hate involving you in anything that isn’t for entertainment purposes only.”
All in all, Manchester fans needn’t worry about the Rap Queen’s visit to England’s “Rainy City.”
“We will have another date for [Saturday night’s] show shortly & I’ll probably be able to share it [on Sunday]. One July option & one June option is currently being discussed. I’ll find a way to not only make up the date with the performance but I’m going to create an added bonus for everyone that had a tkt for this show. Promise,” she assured English #Barbz. “I’ll STILL be performing at the 2nd #Manchester show on [May 30].”
As of time of this report the Harajuku Barbie has not confirmed the official rescheduled date.
