Report: Diddy Could Not Legally Say Cassie’s Name in Apology Post Over Resurfaced Assault Video Due to NDA

Despite spending months declaring his innocence, Diddy rocked headlines over the weekend after a surveillance tape from 2016 was obtained by CNN and showed the music mogul brutally attacking his then-girlfriend/singer-actress Cassie in a hotel.

As the savage assault continues to be the hot topic of the entertainment industry since the video’s release on Friday (May 17), more details are coming to light about the fallout it’s caused.

Details inside.

Inciting copious weigh-ins from industry analysts, fellow celebrities, and social media users alike, the unveiling of the shocking visual led Diddy (born Sean Combs) to Instagram and Facebook to deliver an apology post condemning his actions in the 8-year-old clip.

“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it; I’m disgusted now,” he said (as seen above).

And while Cassie’s lawyer was among the first to criticize the video statement by suggesting the commentary rendered was self-centered, some critics also challenged its sincerity because Combs never mentioned the singer-actress by name.

Sources are now sharing with the press that the Bad Boy founder wanted to address her directly but could not due to the terms of an NDA signed in compliance with his headline-grabbing 2023 settlement with the ‘Me & U‘ performer.

“Cassie is just the tip of the legal iceberg Diddy is facing. While he’s settled her lawsuit, he still has to deal with 3 other suits that include some of the same allegations Cassie brought including human and sex trafficking,” TMZ shared on the matter.

At the time of this report Diddy nor a representative have officially confirmed the reason he opted not to mention his ex-girlfriend directly.
