Shawn Mendes Sets New Self-Titled LP for October Release / Drops Album Trailer & Readies TWO New Singles For August

Shawn Mendes may be gearing up to celebrate his birthday on August 8, but it appears he’s the one handing out the gifts.

Nearly four years after watching his album ‘Wonder‘ become his fourth consecutive chart-topper on the Billboard 200, Mendes is looking to keep the streak going with his new album ‘Shawn.’

Announced on Wednesday (July 31), the 3x GRAMMY nominee sent his fans (affectionately called the #MendesArmy) into a frenzy when he marched to social media to reveal details about the forthcoming project.

“Music really can be medicine,” Mendes shared with his 72 million Instagram followers. “Two years ago, I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago, I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift. Honestly thank god for my friends and family. Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I really hope you love this album, I do. I really really do. I hope it makes you feel warm and close to the earth like it does for me.”

As if unveiling the LP’s cover art and tracklist weren’t enough (as seen above), Mendes also lifted the lid on news the set’s first two singles – ‘Why Why Why’ and ‘Isn’t That Enough’ – are set to storm digital music platforms on August 8 (his 26th birthday).

Ahead of the new drops next month, see the official album trailer below.
