Small Black Arrows are the next big thing. Let me hark around the streets of Manchester! You’ve heard it here first. This next instalment is a hip hop soul banger that doesn’t drag and hits home hard with sassy vocals, a trip hop beat and a formula that will make you remember where you heard this first! Their debut album hits the streets on the 31st May and will get you. Trust me…
SMALL BLACK ARROWS RELEASE NEW SINGLE TROJAN HORSE. Following on from the successful digital release of the title track from their forthcoming debut LP, THE BRITISH MUSEUM which reached #12 in the iTunesalt singles chart, this is the second single from the album, leading to its release later in the month.Trojan Horse is a deceptively simple earworm, with an irresistible killer bass riff leading you into a tale of new love and its complications.
Luke Bailey says: “On the surface, Trojan Horse is a fun and funky driving number with rock and electro-pop overtones. Lyrically it charts those turbulent throes of new love, although we explore it through the lens of one man’s fragile ego. He’s emotionally generous to begin with, but small indiscretions feel like betrayals to him. The narrative then examines how he intellectualises these perceived attacks and his attempts to rebalance equilibrium. Musically we’ve teased his psychological maze, with cyclical notions and a thriller feel (the film genre not the Michael Jackson song). We’ve subverted the more traditional love-pop design with a sinister rolling bed and infused the melody with some unsettling harmonies to kind of challenge the ear a little and express the darker nature of music’s much lauded emotion”.
THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM: The British Museum LP hits the streets on the 31st May on Vinyl, CD and all digital formats, with a further single out close to the album, to support the release. The album is an immersive, multi-layered masterpiece that takes you on an urgent joyride through modern Britain, combining the bands eclectic experimental pop with virtual “exhibits”. Hauntingly melodic, Small Black Arrows offer a cautionary examination of love, mental illness, and political manipulation, through one App’s perspective of the impending AI revolution.
