Watch Caribou debut a new live set for Boiler Room in Belfast

Dan Snaith wears many guises. As the sylph-like looper Daphni, he is queen of the dance floor. As sun-soaked and hazy headed Caribou, he is best known for his sentimental, euphoric lo-fi house painted in broad, dreamy downtempo strokes.

On the Canadian writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist’s contentious latest project Honey, these multiplicities merge into one like never before – for the first time, blurring the lines between where Snaith ends and his aliases begin.

Although this approach landed to varying degrees of success in recording, it’s always been something that Snaith has managed to pull off live. A Snaith live set is the most organic amalgamation of his many masks.

His most recent for Boiler Room in Belfast brings select tracks from Honey, alongside a few Caribou standards, to life with live percussion and vocals from Snaith. It’s a captivating journey, proving that despite his occasional missteps, Snaith still holds court amongst that echelon of electronic music maestros alongside the likes of Four Tet and Floating Points.
