Earlier this year, painter and musician Daisy Rickman released Howl, an album described in these pages as “…a wonder, an ancient pastoral dream of an album full of contemporary resonances.” In his review, Thomas Blake suggested that in an alternative reality, had Nico teamed up with the Incredible String Band instead of the Velvet Underground, we might have had something approaching Howl’s anxious bliss and incantatory majesty.
Well, here’s an alternative world of sorts – Rickman stepping into psych rock territory for a fun studio jam with Isaac Ockenden and Cassius Nymh, covering the 13th Floor Elevators’ debut single, You’re Gonna Miss Me.
