Wolf van Elfmand is a musician based in Queens, NY, who has released a number of country/folk records. More recently, he teamed up with the legendary Karl Blau, taking his work in a new direction. Their new single, Now & Then, is released today (October 2nd) and is also our Song of the Day. More music is planned for 2025.
With Wolf on lead vocals, Nylon and Electric Guitar, Karl joins him on melodica and harmony vocals. They recorded the track on January 12th, 2024, at Andy’s Room in Germantown, Philadelphia, on a Tascam 38 1/2″ 8-Track Recorder.
Wolf shared:
“This is a homey tune, recorded one brisk afternoon with Karl at his studio in Philly. I took the cover photo during the session; you can hear that fire crackle during the intro. The song is a simple yearning for some good fortune. It doesn’t ask difficult questions as much as it identifies a desire for what some have and others do not.”
