Christina Marchand, 75, was walking to the shops on October 19 when she was hit from behind by a boy riding an electric bike on the pavement.
The gran-of-seven from Brighton, East Sussex, says the boy on the bike was local and has just turned 14.
After falling and hitting the pavement on Whitehawk Road Ms Marchand was left with a broken wrist, broken ribs, bruising on her legs, and cuts on her hands.
She said: “He was going quite quickly and went into the back of me. I didn’t see him or hear him. He pushed me along the pavement, and I went over.
“I tried to break the fall with my hand, and I think that is what broke my wrist. He did apologise but he didn’t stay round for long.”
After the accident, a local woman managed to phone an ambulance and Ms Marchand spent a few hours in hospital.
The pensioner, a mum to five, has since been staying with her son while she recovers.
She added: “It has been very difficult for me.
“I was in so much pain and couldn’t really do anything for myself. I couldn’t get out of the bath or bed.
“I am feeling better now but I am still in quite a bit of pain with my ribs. It is really hard to sleep.
“It has made me very nervous about going out. I am always looking behind me in case another one comes along.”
Ms Marchand says she knows the name and address of the boy who hit her and that police have been informed of this- but are yet to take action.
She said: “I have seen him since on a bike again, so he is still doing the same thing.
“I know who he is, and I have told the police. These electric bikes go at such a speed.
“He said that he couldn’t stop but he could have done a detour and avoided me. He didn’t really try.
“There should be some legislation. Children shouldn’t be able to use these bikes. I don’t know how they are able to get them and use them, but they are everywhere.”
Sussex Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident, and have appealed for CCTV footage.
