Prince Harry has been issued a dire warning regarding his stay in the US following Donald Trump’s re-election last week.
The Duke of Sussex’s visa arrangements have come back into the spotlight recently after the new President-elect hinted earlier this year that he could intervene regarding Prince Harry‘s visa “if he lied” about taking drugs in the past.
Mr Trump’s comments came after US think tank The Heritage Foundation requested Harry’s immigration records be made public due to his revelations about past drug use in his memoir Spare.
However, the prince’s visa records remain private after a judge in Washington DC ruled that his visa application should not be made public following requests by US think-tank The Heritage Foundation.
Now a royal commentator warned that even though Harry’s visa is not a priority for Mr Trump, it still is a topic that is “on his mind” as he prepares to re-enter the White House.
US journalist Lee Cohen claimed the new president-elect would ensure that “appropriate action” is taken if the duke is found to have lied on his visa.
He told GB News: “It sure seems like divine justice or karma that the fortunes of the Sussexes have taken such a turn over the past year. Bad behaviour and bad judgment have been catching up with them.
“With Donald Trump‘s historic landmark landslide win, I imagine there have been some sleepless nights in Montecito.”
He added: “Whether it’s Portugal, Canada, Montecito or Frogmore, wherever the Sussexes drop anchor, they seem to wear out their welcome.
“I don’t know if this will be Donald Trump‘s priority, the first thing he concentrates on being Harry’s visa, but certainly it should give cause for some anxiety over in Montecito.”
The Trumps and the Sussexes have been in an ongoing feud for a few years.
Their spat began in 2016 before Meghan married into the Royal Family when she accused the former US president of being “divisive” and “misogynistic” during an interview on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore.
In 2020, the Republican presidential candidate hit out at Meghan again and said: “I’m not a fan of hers. I wish a lot of luck to Harry, he’s going to need it.”
