RAF Red Arrows flypast route mapped for Charles’s second Trooping the Colour

A large formation of military aircraft will participate in the King’s birthday flypast.

It will feature the iconic Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight which includes a Lancaster bomber, usually flanked by 12 other aircraft – Spitfires, Hurricanes, a Dakota and a couple of DHC-1 Chipmunks.

More aircraft are yet to be confirmed.

On the day, restrictions on aircrafts will be imposed in the vicinity of the North Sea, East Anglia, Essex and London, to ensure the Flypast’s safe passage over Buckingham Palace.

The dispersal will occur to the West and North West of London over Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The route of the RAF flypast crosses multiple counties before entering London for 12.40pm.

Firstly, the aircraft amass over the water just off the coast of Suffolk at around 11am.

They will then come onto land, through Suffolk heading across Ipswich after 12:30pm and then entering Essex around 12.35pm.

The aircrafts then travel over Colchester and down past Chelmsford at about 12:40pm.

They will enter London from the North East, typically flying over the Hainault before making their way into the capital’s centre via Stratford.

This is expected at the earliest at 12.40pm with the flyover at Buckingham Palace scheduled for 1pm.

After travelling over the royal residence the planes will exit the city through the North West, heading towards the east of Oxford, before landing in Reading.

Rehearsals will take place on Monday June 3, though if the weather hampers visibility it will take place on Tuesday June 4.

They will start in the vicinity of the North Sea, adjacent to East Anglia at 11am then travel over RAF Marham in Norfolk before flying over RAF Cranwell and RAF Waddington.

Dispersal will occur over Lincolnshire at about 12:35pm.
