Defra Demands No Filming at Steve Reed CLA Conference Speech
Defra Secretary Steve Reed is giving a speech at at the Country Land and Business Association conference. There will be a Q&A like last time. Defra is demanding no filming take place – only photographs. Are they expecting boos?
Presumably to reassure the media Defra has organised a gruelling 20-or-so-minute huddle with Reed and hacks. As the conference is kicking off the CLA’s president Victoria Vyvyan is on stage telling Reed: “Your government is making the cost of business prohibitive.” External Affairs director Jonathan Roberts says “there is an elephant in the room today, the shadow of the Budget looms over this conference.” Reed is smiling at the back of the room. Why wouldn’t you want cameras for this show?
