We’ve just rather belatedly (the request was sent on 14 March and should have been responded to a month ago) received this:

The response to question 4 – namely that the police could not give an “opinion” on whether something was a crime or not – is a curious one. If we ever get arrested again, we’ll be sure to suggest that whatever law is involved is just a matter of opinion.
