Leeds-based septet Awen Ensemble released their debut album, Cadair Idris, on New Soil Records last month. Gareth Thompson, who reviewed the album (read it here), described it: Woven from modern jazz repertoires with a mythic folk essence, this is an audacious and promising debut.
The band recently shared three live performance takes of tracks from Cadair Idris, recorded at Yellow Arch Studios, formerly an Edwardian Nuts & Bolts factory situated in Sheffield’s industrial heartland.
