FEC Approves ₦242bn+ for 14 Road Projects Nationwide

The Federal Ministry of Works has received approval from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to embark on the construction, rehabilitation, and rescoping of 14 critical road projects across the country.

The projects, which will cost N242.68 billion, were described as essential to improving road infrastructure and connectivity across various states.

List of Approved Road Projects

While addressing State House correspondents, the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, highlighted the affected roads, which include:

1. Agaie-Katcha-Baro Road (Niger State)
2. Odukpani Junction – Calabar-Ikom-Ogoja Road (Cross River State)
3. Abeokuta-Ajibo Road and Iyana Mosa Road (Ogun State)
4. Abaji Section of Ibaji-Odulu-Ajibu Road (Anambra State)
5. Umuahia-Ituano-Ikot Ekpene Road, Umuahia Umudike Section
6. Kaduna-Jos Road (Phase One) (Kaduna & Plateau States)
7. Yola-Fufure Road (Adamawa State)
8. Ijebu-Ibutita Ebe Road (Ogun State)
9. Lamido Road (Taraba State)
10. Nkomoro-Isu Road (Enugu & Ebonyi States)
11. Aba-Owerri Road Dualization by Ikot Ekpene Border
12. Gashua-Bayamari Road (Section Two) (Yobe State)
13. Ikorodu-Shagamu Road (Phase One of Lagos-Ibadan Road)
14. Remaining Sections of Lagos-Ibadan Road

Strict Compliance with Project Timelines

Senator Umahi issued a stern warning to contractors handling these projects, stating that any company failing to meet the agreed terms will have their contracts terminated.

The approval signals a renewed commitment by the federal government to improving road infrastructure and enhancing economic activities across the country.
