Theatre Of Hate announce 80 : 25 45th Anniversary Tour
Theatre Of Hate have today announced 80 : 24 the bands 45th Anniversary Tour.
The band formed in London, England, in 1980 out of the ashes of frontman Kirk Brandon’s previous outfit The Pack
alongside bassist Stan Stammers (formerly of The Straps and The Epileptics), saxophonist John “Boy” Lennard, guitarist Steve Guthrie and drummer Luke Rendle (formerly of Crisis and The Straps). Theatre Of Hate’s debut single Original Sin was released in November 1980 as a double A-side with Legion and reached No. 5 in the UK Indie Chart. In August 1981, Mick Jones of the Clash produced Westworld the bands defining album ahead of their break up the following year.
In 2024 the current line-up of Theatre Of Hate released an entirely knew rerecording of Westworld.
In 2025, Theatre of Hate will celebrate their 45th Anniversary.
Honouring the occasion, the post-punk luminaries will be embarking on a very special UK tour in which they will perform their seminal debut album Westworld, live and in-full, for the very first time.
Featuring Kirk Brandon, Stan Stammers, Chris Bell, and Clive Osbourne – these one-off shows will also see the band performing all their Singles, and associated B Sides, at select venues across the UK.
