Princess Eugenie has warmly shared her two young sons’ reactions to the news of a new baby cousin on the horizon, following the announcement that her sister, Princess Beatrice, is expecting her second child.
Beatrice initially broke the news of her expanding family earlier this month, with her thrilled sister extending her heartfelt congratulations in a social media post. Now, just days after sharing the thrilling news with the world, Eugenie has given an insight into how her own little ones are adapting to the news.
In a conversation with HELLO!, Eugenie candidly confessed that her own children, aged three and one, aren’t yet aware that they have a new baby cousin en route, but did hint that she believes August might become aware of the change in the not too distant future.
“I haven’t got that far yet,” says the Princess. “I think maybe Augie will see the tummy growing and realise but no, they don’t get it. Just yet,” reports the Mirror.
While her own children may not fully grasp the significance of a new baby in the family, one person who is absolutely delighted is Eugenie and Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York.
“Mum’s funny, because she loves her grandchildren so much but you can just see this pride for her two daughters,” Eugenie elaborated. “She’s like ‘my babies! ‘ When you become a granny you have the pride for the baby and your baby, you know? She’s got a double whammy there.”
Buckingham Palace excitedly broke the news of Princess Beatrice‘s second pregnancy on October 1, with a formal announcement stating: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna.”
“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
In tandem with this joyful bulletin, the happy couple shared two adorable photographs of their blossoming family, signifying the imminent arrival of another cherished member to their growing clan.
