After coming off a dominant performance over Luis Nery, Japanese boxer, ‘The Monster’, Naoya Inoue, eyes his next bout, potentially landing on the Wembley card set for September, with AJ the expected headliner.
With a run of stoppage wins over Luis Nery, Marlon Tapales, Stephen Fulton, and Paul Butler, Naoya is currently targeting his next big fight, and as a fan-favourite of many boxing fans, may have earnt a spot in front of a huge UK crowd later this year.
The Japanese boxer was presumed to face IBF mandatory challenger, Australian Sam Goodman, though this is now not the case as Goodman is set to fight in July, targeting ‘The Monster’ in December, which frees the sensation up for the proposed September card.
Inoue Next Fight OPPONENT?
If he does land a spot on the card, his opponent could be any number of fighters.
The most likely fight though is Uzbek boxer and WBA mandatory challenger, Murodjon Akhmadaliev, who now sits at 12-1, with his one loss coming at the hands of Marlon Tapales.
Another possible opponent is 33-4-1 John Riel Casemiro, who Inoue has stated he’d like to fight one day.
The September card is expected to be headlined by Anthony Joshua versus the winner of this Saturday’s bout between Filip Hrgovic and Daniel DuBois, with ‘The Monster’ likely landing as co-main event.
